Stephen E. Flowers

Stephen Edred Flowers, a.k.a. Edred Thorsson, was born on May 5, 1953 in Texas. While researching runes on an experiential level during the early 1970s, he also began his formal academic studies at the University of Texas at Austin and in 1984 received a Ph.D. in Germanic languages and Medieval Studies with a dissertation entitled Runes and Magic. He has written over fifty books on various topics. In 1980, he founded the Rune-Gild. Today he is considered the world's foremost authority on esoteric runology. Dr. Flowers is the director of the Woodharrow Institute. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge (and about English Bulldogs). He lives in the woods near Austin, Texas with his wonderful wife (he wonders about her all the time), Crystal, and a menagerie of animal companions. "Seek the Mysteries" is a translation of the Icelandic motto: Reyn til Rúna!
